I can't write swedish so I'll write in english :)

I have problem driving with gas if I start car with little less than ½ tank.
It idles normaly but when accelerating gas meter drops to zero. When car changes to bensin gas meter goes back to ½.

When I fill the gas tank full I can drive with gas normaly till I start car with less that ½ of gas left.

Thank you in advance. Nobody in Finland could help me because my 316g is only one in here.

Hello Tuomas,
I don’t drive a BMW 316g(Maakaasu), but I read about the similar problem in a German forum.
The only difference is that they noticed a sound from valve at the cng cylinder(closing of the valve) and after that the green gas indicator lamp goes out.
A pressure sensor checks the pressure of the gas cylinder(located in the trunk at the cylinder close to shut off valve).
If you accelerate the pressure drops and you get too little gas flow.
The cause of this problem could be that the valve of the cylinder is only half open or the safety valve is out of order.

Greetings

Hi CNG-Driver,

I think that sound is normal when green light goes on and off.

I checked that valve is fully open. Located the sensor also.
Notice that if I have more that ½ tank of gas left car acts normal. I have driven car over 4000km with no problems. I also checked CNG-pipes and they seemed ok. Magnet switch looked also very good, no rust.

Can you tell me address of thet German forum so I can also ask help from there?

Hello Tuomas,
here is the link to the German forum:
http://www.gibgas-forum.de.
Click at "FORUM" and „Andere Erdgasmodelle“ then have a look for any threads that contains BMW316g/BMW518g.

If they can’t help you just follow this link:
http://www.peltner-gas.de/.
They did some repairs(pressure regulators, cylinders, safety valves etc.)at some BMW 316g/518g.
