Opel Zafira A CNG and the internal inspection(after 5 years)

Post by CNG-Driver »

Hejsan,
Opel Zafira A with CNG-Equipment produced until the 01.01.2003 need a internal inspection after 5 years(in Germany and should be the same in Sweden) .
You will find the date for the inspection here:
1. Extraanvisning till bruksanvisningen look at Etikett met fordonsdata
or
2. Datum för nästa kontroll av naturgas-anläggningen kan läsas pa en
dekal i närhetten av tank-röret.

If you see the year of manufacture 2002 or date for inspection 2007,
you should act.

(You would have to spent 500 Euro nearly 4.645,5283 SEK for the inspection and it would last 2 weeks.
You have to do this procedure every 5 years- which is unacceptable).

The best way is to contact your local Opel dealer.

He will inform the OSV and ask for the necessary papers.

After a leak test and visiual examination is done and after paying 151 Euro means 1.402,9496 SEK,you will get a certificate and adhesive label from the TUEV which is delivered by the OSV.

The vehicle registration office need to update the data in the registration documents and it will cost about 19 Euro means 176,5301 SEK.

The CNG-Equipment has to be only checked after 2 years externaly(leak test, visual examination) and the gas cylinders have to be removed after
20 years.

I hope to finish the process above until the end of april.

greetings

That was a bit hard to understand. Have you run parts of the text through an automatic translation service? In that case, don't do that, it usually turns out a bit gibberish'ish.

CNG vehicles don't have any special rules here. In the future they might go over the car with a sniffer to search for gas leaks at the yearly inspection, but that's it.

I'm sorry about my message, which was difficult to understand.
This time I try to explain it in a different way and I hope it's easy to understand.
My Zafira A CNG is one of the first generation and it was classified as a pressure vessel.
The german legal requirement for a pressure vessel is a visual inspection after 5 years and a pressure test after 10 years.
Now the standard ECE-R 110 is established, which means that there is only a leak test(snifer test with gas detector and bubble test) after 2 years in germany.
The 4 gas cylinders have to be removed after 20 years(end of life).
My car is now according to ECE-R-110, because I get a expert opinion from OSV.
It wasn't cheap, but even cheaper than the costs for a internal inspection and a pressure test.
